With good investment in their education and a safe and happy future to look forward to, young people might be inspired by the suggestion to study and eventually work in STEM. You must engage with them from a position of honesty and authenticity: there's no sugar coating. If you want to change things, you must engage with the people who have the power to change or to resist change. What is missing from the photo? Young people and young people's voices. The best to hope for is to improve conditions for the development of young people toward that goal. Nothing those people discuss can possibly create a STEM work force of the future.
That's a nice photo, but it tells me one very significant thing.
